  1. Kat,

You wouldn't know me, my name is Amy Dilocker. Samantha Dilocker is my daughter and she is a year older than you. We lived in Red Oak our whole lives and moved to Texas over the summer. So Sam is going to high school in Texas now.

I have seen you when you were in 6th & 7th grade at middle school music programs and plays. I think I told you good job in the hall once or twice and I know I talked to your dad once about how cute I thought you were.

Sam and I heard about your trouble with bullying thru a Facebook link to the channel 6 story about you.

Mr. Perrin, Mrs. Pratt and Mr. Kilpatrick can verify who I am so you know I'm not a crazy internet stalker or anything weird. I wanted to contact you and your family and tell you how sorry I am that this is happening. I remember in the 6th grade I was beat up by another girl. I do know how you feel. But please don't let this get you down.

I know now your school years are your whole world but it's only the beginning of your world and there will be many many more years that will be very happy.

The reason I wanted to write to you is that I always noticed you at school because you were always smiling so big and looked so happy and proud to be on stage. I could see you looking in the audience until you saw your family and then you were smiling even bigger! My mom and I both noticed you. Sam told me your name.

Please remember on the bad days that when you think everyone is against you that there are people who will notice you for all the good things, a huge smile, doing well in school, admiring your courage to speak up or just notice how pretty you are. It may be a parent like me in the audience, a favorite teacher or a younger kid that looks up to you.

I hope you will keep in touch through this blog so I know how you are doing. With your mom's permission maybe I can introduce myself to you when I come back to Red Oak in a couple weeks for a visit. You are welcome to email Sam & I directly at amydilocker@gmail.com if it's ok with your parents.

Just wanted to remind you keep smiling and be brave through this. Life will always have some jerks but there are also people who think you are great.

    1. Thank you and I know your daughter. She is very talented. The bullying has cooled down a lot.
